Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct is designed to provide a set of guidelines for acting as an open-appsec Ambassador.
Pledge
open-appsec Ambassadors community is here to share ideas, thoughts, and inspire others. You have been chosen as an open-appsec Ambassador as we believe that you have the capacity to create, lead and set a great example to new communities, and represent us in the best possible way.
In the interest of creating an open and welcoming environment within our community of users, we as ambassadors pledge to make participation in our community (project) a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, visible or invisible disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, caste, colour, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
We pledge to act and interact in ways that contribute to an open, kind, welcoming, diverse, inclusive, and healthy community.

Standards
Examples of behaviour that contribute to a positive environment for our community include:

Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people

Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences

Welcoming feedback, questions and open discussions

Encouraging others to become involved in our project in a kind and honest manner

Showing gratitude and appreciation for others

Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback

Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience

Focusing on what is best not just for us as individuals, but for the overall community
Examples of unacceptable behaviour include:

The use of sexualized language or imagery, and sexual attention or advances of any kind

Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks

Public or private harassment
-
Publishing others’ private information, such as a physical or email address, without their explicit permission
-
Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting
Responsibilities
open-appsec Ambassadors are responsible for presenting and clarifying the standards of acceptable behaviour when engaging in the activities below (under ‘Scope’ section), and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any instances of unacceptable behaviour.
Scope
This Code of Conduct applies both within project spaces and in public spaces when an Ambassador is representing the project or its community, in any of the activities mentioned below:

Promoting open-appsec through social media posts

Organizing open-appsec meetings

Presenting open-appsec to attendees during meeting, answering questions conducting discussions with attendees

Participating in meetings with open-appsec team/open-appsec Ambassadors

Connecting with open-appsec points of contact
Enforcement
Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behaviour may be reported by contacting our team at ambassador-support@openappsec.io . All complaints will be reviewed and investigated and will result in a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances. The open-appsec team is obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident.
Ambassadors who do not follow the Code of Conduct in good faith may be asked by open-appsec team to remove offending content from community spaces or public spaces, and in other cases may be suspended or removed from the open-appsec Ambassador Program.
Engaging in activity that is illegal, immoral, fraudulent, deceptive, or is otherwise likely to damage the reputation of the open-appsec community, foundation, or Ambassador Program, is grounds for immediate suspension or removal from the Ambassador Program.
Updates
open-appsec team reserves the right to modify this Code of Conduct at any time, at its sole discretion. We will notify open-appsec Ambassadors of major changes to the guidelines by email. However, any changes to these guidelines will not apply retroactively. If these guidelines are updated and an open-appsec Ambassador does not wish to agree, their participation in the Ambassador Program will cease until such time as they do agree.
